HD NITRITE FREE COOLANT

Description

Valvoline HD Nitrite Free coolant is engineered to protect all cooling systems using OAT coolants. The Valvoline™ patented coolant technology provides superior protection against liner pitting and hard water scale deposits.

Approvals and standards

Valvoline HD Nitrite Free Coolant meets the requirements of the leading heavy-duty engine manufacturers.

The engine coolant incorporates organic acid technology (OAT) that protects both diesel and gas engines from liner pitting and hard water scale buildup that can lead to premature engine failure.

In addition, the silicate and nitrite-free extended life chemistry protects all cooling system metals from corrosion including aluminum.

For more details on products’ approval codes, see Performance level sections at the top of HD Nitrite Free RTU and -67 RTU Product Information sheets. (Find links to the sheets below.)

Benefits

Valvoline HD Nitrite Free Coolant is developed to provide high levels of protection to all sorts of metals.

The HD Nitrite Free formula contains additional anti-scaling additives and corrosion inhibitors that improve engine performance and service life.

Moreover, it is compatible with major long-life and conventional brands of ethylene glycol-based coolants. However, the long-life characteristics of the Valvoline HD Nitrite Free coolant may be affected by mixing it with light-duty or conventional fully formulated coolants.

Thanks to the non-depleting OAT, it does not require the use of extenders.

The Valvoline HD Nitrite Free -67 RTU provides up to 6 years / 600,000 miles / 12,000 hours of service, while the Valvoline HD Nitrite Free RTU provides up to 10 years / 1.000.000 miles / 20,000 hours of service.

Application

Apart from heavy-duty engines with cooling systems using OAT coolants, Valvoline HD Nitrite Free engine coolant can be used for gasoline, stationary power, marine, natural gas, and light-duty applications.

It is available in:

  • Ready-to-use (RTU) for freezing temperatures up to -36°C, and
  • -67 RTU for freezing temperatures up to -67°C.*

*Check the owner's manual and/or product information sheet before use.

Valvoline™ products should never be stored above 60°C and exposed to hot sun or freezing conditions.
